We do not insist as a ‘condition of booking’ that holidaymakers have adequate cancellation insurance. However, we do suggest that you purchase such insurance as we are unable to give refunds for bookings taken. The insurance is relatively good value, especially for large party sizes.
This type of insurance can be bought on a per holiday basis and covers you or any member of your party against not being able to make the holiday. Most policies will cover you up to the final invoice cost for cancelletion or curtailment of the holiday because of the death of, accident to, sickness, jury service or witness call of any named member of the party.
We are not experts in this field and would welcome any thoughts or recommendations and will update this page from time to time. We note that £1,000 of cover can, at the time of writing, be purchased for £20 with a £25 excess through Schofields. See here for further details. Or for a wider search try google.
If you do wish to buy cancellation insurance please ensure you do the investigating at the time of making the booking as it is usually a requirement to buy the insurance at the time of making the booking. We do not automatically issue an invoice so please also ask us to issue one.
